VelocityCam Pro turns a recorded GPS track into a full set of GPS-estimated performance results — speed tests, distance tests, deceleration, sustained-speed windows, and more — without any external hardware. None of this is certified timing; it is phone-GPS performance analysis meant for personal tracking, comparison, and curiosity.

Speed tests and custom speed tests

VelocityCam automatically scans a recording for standard speed-range tests — 0–30, 0–60, 30–60, 60–100, and 60–130 MPH, or 0–50, 0–100, 50–100, 100–160, and 100–200 KM/H — and reports the GPS-estimated time for each range it finds. Custom speed tests let you define your own start and end speed, from either a stationary launch or a rolling start.

Distance tests

Distance tests measure GPS-estimated elapsed time over a fixed distance: 330 ft, 660 ft (1/8 mile), 1000 ft, 1320 ft (1/4 mile), 100 m, and 200 m. These are useful for comparing runs at a consistent distance rather than a consistent speed range.

Deceleration and sustained speed

Deceleration tests report GPS-estimated stopping performance, such as 60–0 MPH or 100–0 KM/H. Sustained-speed results — Best 10s and Best 30s, plus custom sustained windows where the UI supports them — surface the strongest continuous stretch of speed in a session rather than a single instantaneous peak.

Speed bands and thresholds

Speed bands report how much time and distance were spent within a configured speed range. Speed thresholds report how long the recording stayed at or above a chosen speed, continuously. Both are built entirely from the recorded GPS track.

Attempt history: median, spread, and standard deviation

When a recording contains multiple attempts at the same test, VelocityCam's Attempt History lists every completed attempt, highlights the best result, and reports Median, Spread, and Standard Deviation across the set — a quick read on how consistent the runs were, not just how fast the best one was.

Run comparison and performance history

Run Comparison lines up two compatible or matching runs, aligns their data, and shows a split and time-delta view so you can see exactly where time was gained or lost. Performance History looks further back, tracking personal bests and historical attempts across recordings over time so you can watch consistency and progress build up in one place.

FAQs

Is VelocityCam's performance testing certified timing?

No. Every result is GPS-estimated, derived from the phone's own GPS receiver. It is not certified or professional timing equipment, and results should not be used for legal, competitive, or safety-critical decisions.

Do I need to record a special test mode?

No. VelocityCam scans a normal recording's GPS track for matching speed ranges, distances, and sustained-speed windows automatically; you don't need to trigger a separate test mode while recording.

What is the difference between Attempt History and Performance History?

Attempt History covers the completed attempts within a single recording, including median, spread, and standard deviation. Performance History looks across multiple recordings over time, tracking personal bests and long-term consistency.

Is GPS performance testing a free feature?
