Performance Telemetry Camera for Android

VelocityCam's Pro Performance HUD is a GPS performance overlay built for any session where speed, pace, and distance tell the story: driving, track and test runs, boating, motorcycles, bicycles, trail riding, and ATV/UTV. It replaces a single fixed readout with four matched gauge pairs you can tap to cycle through, so the numbers on screen match what you actually want to review afterwards. Performance is part of the one-time VelocityCam Pro unlock and runs through the same recording, playback, and export pipeline as every other HUD.

What the Performance HUD shows

Performance is built entirely from GPS data, arranged as four matched gauge pairs on the side of the screen. Tap either side gauge to cycle through its pair; whichever value is showing when you start recording is the one saved with that session for playback and export.

  • Speed pair: Max Speed / Average Speed
  • Best Runs pair: Best 10-Second Average / Best 30-Second Average
  • Session pair: Recording Distance / Recording Duration
  • Movement pair: Course (course over ground) / Distance From Start
  • Live GPS status and elapsed recording time
  • The active gauge pair is preserved with the recording for playback and export

Built for the session, not the mount

A canyon drive, a track test day, a boat run, a motorcycle ride, a bicycle segment, a trail hike, or a lap in a UTV all benefit from the same GPS performance readouts. Performance is not tied to a driver's seat or a fixed windshield mount — it works equally well mounted to a vehicle or set up wherever the recorder is positioned. A phone must never be handled while operating a vehicle: mount it securely, or have a passenger hold and operate it instead.

Recording with Performance

  1. 1

Choose the Performance HUD and wait for GPS

Select Performance from the HUD profiles before recording. VelocityCam waits for a GPS lock before allowing you to start.

  2. 2

Pick a gauge pair, then record

Tap either side gauge to cycle to the value you want showing — Speed, Best Runs, Session, or Movement. Whatever is active when you tap Record travels with the session.

  3. 3

    Review with Performance Analytics

Pro sessions recorded with Performance feed directly into GPS-estimated speed tests, distance tests, and run comparison in the analytics workspace.

Frequently asked questions

Is Performance only for holding the phone in your hand?

No. Performance is a GPS performance HUD that suits driving, track and test runs, boating, motorcycles, bicycles, trails, and ATV/UTV, whether the phone is mounted or held by a passenger.

Does Performance show G-force?

No. The Performance HUD and Performance Analytics use GPS-derived speed, distance, time, and course data, and no current selectable HUD exposes a G-force gauge.

What are the matched gauge pairs?

Performance's two side gauges each cycle through a pair: Speed shows Max Speed or Average Speed, Best Runs shows Best 10-Second or Best 30-Second Average, Session shows Recording Distance or Recording Duration, and Movement shows Course or Distance From Start. Tap a gauge to switch between its pair.

Which gauge pair gets saved with the recording?

Whichever pair is showing on each side gauge at the moment you start recording. That state is saved with the session and reproduced automatically during playback and export.

Is it safe to hold a phone while driving to use Performance?

No. A phone must never be handled while operating a vehicle. Mount it securely, or have a passenger hold and operate it. Performance works the same way whether the phone is mounted or handed to a passenger.

Is Performance a Pro feature?

Yes. Performance is part of the one-time VelocityCam Pro lifetime unlock. Minimal is the free HUD profile; Pro adds Performance, premium HUD themes, Performance Analytics, and the telemetry and route export formats.
