Offline and local
Route Trace draws from your recorded GPS points — it does not download map tiles or require an API key. Recordings and telemetry stay on the phone. Exporting saves a file to the phone; it leaves the device only if you then share or upload it.

No. Route Trace draws from your recorded GPS points; there are no online map tiles and no map API keys.
Can I export a GPX file from a boat trip?

Does VelocityCam work without cell service?
Yes. Recording, playback, and export work offline. Opening the website, sharing to online social services, and Google Play purchase or restore for Pro need connectivity.
Is VelocityCam a marine navigation app?
No. VelocityCam is a recording and telemetry app. It does not provide navigation charts, depth information, or any other marine safety functionality. Do not rely on it as a navigation or safety device.
