Performance Analytics for Android
Performance Analytics turns a VelocityCam recording into GPS-estimated performance testing after the fact. Every result here is phone-GPS performance analysis, not certified or professional timing equipment — it is built for reviewing and comparing your own runs, not for sanctioned competition or legal record-keeping. Performance Analytics is a Pro feature and works on recordings made with either HUD profile.
What gets measured
Analytics reads the GPS track from a recording and produces a set of standard tests, plus custom variants for the range you actually care about.
- Speed tests: 0-30, 0-60, 30-60, 60-100, and 60-130 MPH, or 0-50, 0-100, 50-100, 100-160, and 100-200 KM/H
- Custom speed tests for any speed-to-speed range, with a stationary launch or a rolling start
- Distance tests: 330 ft, 660 ft (1/8 mile), 1000 ft, 1320 ft (1/4 mile), 100 m, and 200 m
- Deceleration tests: 60-0 MPH and 100-0 KM/H
- Sustained speed: Best 10-second and Best 30-second average
- Speed bands (time or distance spent within a configured speed range) and speed thresholds (continuous duration at or above a set speed)
Attempt History, Run Comparison, and Performance History
A single recording can hold several attempts at the same test. Attempt History lists each completed attempt with the best result, plus Median, Spread, and Standard Deviation across repeats. Run Comparison lines up two compatible runs on aligned data, showing the split and time-delta so you can see exactly where time was gained or lost. Performance History looks across recordings over time — personal bests, historical attempts, and consistency — so you can compare a run today against your own past results.
The analytics workspace
- 1
Summary
Top Speed, Average Moving Speed, Overall Average Speed, Best 10s, Best 30s, Total Distance, Moving Time, Stopped Time, Moving %, Total Duration, and GPS data-quality information for the recording.
- 2
Performance
The full set of speed tests, distance tests, deceleration, sustained speed, speed bands, and speed thresholds calculated from that recording's GPS track.
- 3
Timeline
An interactive Time view or Distance view of the run with pinch-zoom, pan, and crosshair inspection, with Best 10s and Best 30s highlighted on the trace.

Calculated on the device
Performance Analytics reads the GPS track already stored with your recording. There is no account, no upload, and no server-side processing — the analysis happens locally on the phone.
Device requirements
- Android 10 or newer
- Compatible rear camera (front-camera switching before recording, where supported)
- GPS hardware
- Free storage for recording and export
Frequently asked questions
Is this certified timing equipment?
No. Performance Analytics is GPS-estimated performance testing using your phone's GPS receiver. It is useful for reviewing and comparing your own runs, but it is not certified or professional timing equipment.
Can I test a custom speed range instead of the standard ones?
Yes. Custom speed tests let you define your own start and end speed, with either a stationary launch or a rolling start.
How does Run Comparison work?
It lines up two compatible runs on aligned data and shows the split and time-delta between them, so you can see exactly where one run gained or lost time relative to the other.
Does Attempt History just show the best run?
It shows every completed attempt in a recording, the best result, and repeated-run analysis including Median, Spread, and Standard Deviation, not just a single number.
Do I need the Performance HUD to use analytics?
No. Performance Analytics is calculated from the GPS track of a recording and works whether that recording used the Minimal HUD or the Performance HUD.
